WJMC Announces New Chief Nursing Officer

West Jefferson Medical Center (WJMC) is proud to announce Monica Bologna has been named Chief Nursing Officer for West Jefferson Medical Center.

Monica has served as Interim Chief Nursing Officer since January 2017. Previously, she served as the Vice President of Inpatient and Outpatient Medical Surgical Services and has been a part of the West Jefferson Medical Center family for nearly 10 years.

“We are excited to have Monica accept the position as Chief Nursing Officer,” said Nancy R. Cassagne, President and CEO of West Jefferson Medical Center. “Monica has a proven track record for building strong teams who work together to enhance the patient experience. Her deep commitment and knowledge of WJMC and the community make her an excellent fit to lead our nursing division.”

A registered nurse for 20 years, Monica has a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from William Carey College and her Master’s in Health Systems Administration from Loyola University. She resides on the West Bank and since 2008 has served in various nursing leadership roles at West Jefferson.

“I am honored and humbled to contribute to the patient-centered approach to care at West Jefferson,” said Monica Bologna, MSN, RN. “WJMC sets itself apart with a culture of clinical excellence, high-quality patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration. I am excited to continue to grow and develop the clinical excellence at West Jefferson Medical Center.”

Monica’s background includes critical care in the area of cardiac services and cardiothoracic surgery. For several years, Monica has been part of the Medical Center’s senior leadership and has worked closely with staff and members of the medical staff across the organization.
