PR News Rising Star 30 Under 30 Winner

Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) PR & Marketing Manager Kelsey Scram was recognized by PR News as a Rising PR Star 30 Under 30 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on December 6th. The prestigious award was presented to the nation’s top talent and rising public relations young professionals aged 30 and under, and included PR leaders from such companies as Boeing, ESPN, Vimeo, Hilton, Yahoo, Bank of America, Time, and Samsung.

“Kelsey’s marketing leadership and forward-thinking vision have been transformative for JEDCO, and we are so pleased to see national recognition of her hard work,” says JEDCO President & CEO Jerry Bologna. “This award is not only an honor for JEDCO and Jefferson Parish, but for the Greater New Orleans region as well. We are extremely proud of Kelsey and the incredible work she does here at JEDCO.”

As PR & Marketing Manager, Kelsey oversees all aspects of JEDCO’s public relations and marketing initiatives, including press conferences and ribbon-cuttings; social media; advertising; public print and promotional materials; video and graphics; and branding. Under her leadership, JEDCO launched an annual entrepreneurship pitch competition, the JEDCO Challenge, now in its fifth year helping start-up companies reach success in Jefferson Parish. She also directed the re-design and launch of JEDCO’s new logo and is overseeing the re-design of JEDCO’s website, set to be unveiled in early 2017.

The PR News Rising Star Awards are presented annually by PR News at their Winter Awards Luncheon and honor the industry’s top professionals. The awards luncheon also includes the PR People Award, Top Places to Work in PR, and Diversity & Inclusion Awards. The event is sponsored by Business Wire.
