Holiday Things To Do

Celebration in the Oaks turns 30

With hundreds of dazzling lights and breathtaking displays, Celebration in the Oaks in New Orleans City Park is an annual holiday tradition for families in the Crescent City and across the country. City Park’s famous oaks are swathed in hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights and breathtaking light displays are scattered throughout 25 acres of the Park, including the Botanical Garden, Storyland, and Carousel Gardens.

There are many traditional, favorite displays, like the Who Dat tree, Mr. Bingle, and the Cajun Night before Christmas, as well as new wonders this year. Due to the immense popularity of this holiday attraction, it is recommended to buy and print tickets in advance to avoid waiting in ticket lines. Saturdays are the most heavily attended nights, but on weeknights, the lines are short. Train tickets sales on site will stop one hour before closing.
