Make New Discoveries at Jefferson Parish Libraries

The Jefferson Parish Library is committed to providing a high level of customer service, while providing residents with a continually evolving spectrum of products and services.

You can now search, browse, view, save and email newspaper images from The Times Picayune Historical Archive.  The archives include the New Orleans Times 1865 to 1878, the New Orleans Weekly Times 1865 to 1867 and the Times Picayune 1837 to 1988.

The Library now offers the community access to new and emerging technologies such as 3D printers to help people of all ages build the skills and competencies they need for a high-tech world. 3D printing is empowering people to engage in creative learning and launch business ventures.

The Library has designed computer classes to assist you in acquiring practical skills needed to use a computer.  All classes are free and allow for individual attention and hands-on experience.

Now with Hoopla, a digital media service you can borrow movies, music, audiobooks, eBooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone and even your TV! With no waiting.  Titles can be streamed immediately, downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later. There are hundreds of thousands of titles to choose from, with more added daily. Hoopla is like having your public library at your fingertips anytime and anywhere.

Online databases are now available such as Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center, History Reference Center, Legal Information Reference Center, Louisiana Jobs & Career Center, Consumer Health Complete, Business Searching Interface and HomeworkLousiana just to name a few.

Learn one of 80 languages or practice English as a Second language.  You can “Ask a Librarian”, use the Adult Learning Resource and access Tumblebook, animated online children’s books or search the collection of the American Italian Research Library.

Stream Opera and music; get book reviews, recommendations, and online training videos.  Interested in getting a novel, memoir, poetry collection, children’s book and more in eBook and print-ready format?  Pressbooks Public is an east-to-use online tool that allows you to create professional quality version of your book in ePub, MOBI, PDF and more all through the library.

Come in and join a Sci-Fi Fantasy Discussion Group, take a Genealogy Class or use Flipster instant access to the magazines you know and love in an easy-to-read digital format.  Download Flood Protection Documents from the National Flood Insurance Program. Having a function? Rent a meeting room.
