Stumpf, WBIA’s 2018 Legacy Award recipient, has been president of Jack Stumpf and Associates, Inc. since 1981. “We are extremely pleased to announce Jack Stumpf as the WBIA’s Legacy Award recipient,” Jesse Hoppes, 2017-2018 WBIA President, said. “Mr. Stumpf is one of the most respected members of the business and civic communities of the Westbank and entire state of Louisiana. We greatly look forward to recognizing and honoring him on May 10,” Hoppes added.
Stumpf holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Louisiana State University and was schooled in Appraisal Principles at Tulane University. Across the past decades, Stumpf has developed office and medical buildings, office warehouses, self-storage facilities, shopping centers, commercial office parks, motels, residential subdivisions and free standing buildings for local and national tenants. A past board member of the HCIA/WBIA and long-time member of the association, Stumpf has been/is a leader and engaged supporter of the WBIA and numerous business, civic and charitable organizations.
Stumpf is a member of the Louisiana Association of Realtors, National Board of Realtors, and Jefferson Board of Realtors where he served as an area vice-president. An appointee to the Regional Planning Commission, the Crescent City Connection Oversight Committee and the Charter Review Committee of Jefferson Parish, Stumpf serves on the boards of the University of Holy Cross and the West Jefferson Hospital Foundation. He is a past president of the West Jefferson Hospital Foundation and a past board member of the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross. A member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Jefferson Business Council and Westbank Gretna Rotary, Stumpf is also a past president of the Westbank Council of the Chamber of Commerce and a past chairman of the Westbank Rotary Club Foundation. Stumpf is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, an advisory board member of Iberia Bank and a board member of the Westbank Rail Transportation Authority. He is a past board member of Omni Bank. Ever present in the growth and development of the Westbank and region, Stumpf co-chaired Jefferson Edge, is a past board member of the Jefferson Economic Development Corporation (JEDCO), served on the board of the Bureau of Governmental Research, is a past chairman of the Committee for a Better Jefferson, and a past chairman of Westbank Boys and Girls Club where he continues as a member of its board of directors.
The WBIA also announces its distinguished 2018 Invest West Companies to be honored for excellence in business, support of the organization and for making a difference on the West Bank across many years. The five 2018 Invest West Companies to be honored are Loop Linen, Salathe Oil Company, Dufrene Surveying and Engineering, Numa Hero and Son, and Rathborne Properties.
Heritage Companies will also be named for the first time by the WBIA for the businesses decades-long support to the organization and West Bank communities and industry. The WBIA was formerly called the HCIA (Harvey Canal Industrial Association). The Heritage Companies to be recognized are Acme Truck Lines, Barriere Construction, Delgado Community College, Daul Insurance Dufrene Surveying and Engineering, Dynamic Industries, Fifth District Savings and Loan, Harvey Canal, Ltd., Loop Linen, Numa Hero and Son, Kass Brothers, Marrero Land, McDonough Marine, John Alario Tax Services, Rathborne Properties, Retif Oil and Fuel, Salathe Oil Company, Stewart Construction, Jack Stumpf and Associates, and West Jefferson Medical Center. “These companies’ collective contributions to the business community and quality of life on the West Bank top hundreds of years of business excellence and community involvement,” Hoppes added. “The Legacy Committee identified that members of these businesses have served in leadership roles in the region for some 40 years or more and have similarly participated in initiatives of the business organization, many for five decades or more.”
The WBIA Legacy Committee consists of past-presidents of the HCIA/WBIA and is chaired by Jennifer Steel-Bourgeois of LCMC Health’s West Jefferson Medical Center and co-chaired by Charles Frederick of Boomtown Casino and Hotel New Orleans. Outgoing WBIA president Jesse Hoppes of Leaaf Environmental, LLC, will present the Legacy and Invest West awards at the WBIA President’s Gala on Thursday, May 10 at Boomtown Casino as well as recognize Heritage Companies.
