Get to Know Gattuso’s

Gattuso’s Neighborhood Restaurant has long been a place where families and friends can get a bite to eat, gather and enjoy a few drinks and even take in some local bands. Recently Gattuso’s, located at 435 Huey P. Long Ave. in Gretna, went through some renovations to make their customers’ experience even better than ever before.

Gattuso’s has always been a neighborhood hangout- people on the Westbank love to come and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while munching down on a delicious burger or throwing back a few beers. Gattuso’s live music on Friday and Saturday nights has become a Westbank tradition that many folks look forward to after a long work week. Here you will find a beautiful place where you can kick back and relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Proprietor Brad Gattuso recently decided to make some changes at Gattuso’s. He feels that growth is important and over the past year he has been working hard on the restaurant’s fifth renovation in 16 years. Some of the features of the renovation include a beautiful patio and courtyard area that overlooks historical Huey P. Long avenue in downtown Gretna. On nice evenings, you can dine outside at the tables and watch the world go by in the comfort of a beautifully landscaped patio. Seating for diners has been increased by 20% allowing a lot of room to spread out, so that you don’t feel cramped when you are enjoying lunch or dinner or celebrating a special occasion. Bathrooms have also been redone and are completely new. One thing that I really appreciate is the parking lot that Gattuso’s has right across the street from their restaurant. It makes dining in even easier, without the worry of having to find street parking.

Sixteen years ago Brad Gattuso opened Gattuso’s Neighborhood Restaurant on the corner of 3rd street in Gretna. After about a year at that location, Brad moved the operation to Huey P. Long Avenue, the spot that Gattuso’s has called home ever since. There have been a lot of changes over the years. The building was originally small, but over time Brad added onto it eventually making it the restaurant we know today. Gattuso’s was one of the first restaurants serving food to first responders after Hurricane Katrina and, most recently, Gattuso’s provided a drop off site for supplies for Louisiana flood victims. Brad is always working to make sure that Gattuso’s is doing their part in making sure that old Gretna is a place where people want to visit and spend their time, all while giving back to the community.

If you are looking for fun any day of the week, look no further than Gattuso’s Neighborhood Restaurant. Every Tuesday night. Gattuso’s hosts a national trivia competition that is a lot of fun and is sure to stump even the smartest person in your group. Wednesday night is ladies’ night and ladies drink free from 4pm to 9pm. Thursday is $5 burgers and pint night- enjoy a delicious burger and a pint of beer and you get to keep the glass. Every Friday and Saturday night, beginning at 7pm, you can enjoy live local music inside the restaurant. Happy hour is every night, Monday through Saturday, from 4pm to 7 pm. Stop in after work and enjoy $1.00 off bottled domestics, $0.50 off bottled imports, $.50 off draft beers, $2.00 off house liquors, and half priced appetizers. With a generous beer selection that includes 14 beers on draft, as well as their very own signature beer brewed by Covington Brewhouse, this just might be one of the best happy hour deals in town
