Funding Opportunities Available for Jefferson Parish Nonprofit Organizations

President Michael S. Yenni is pleased to announce that the Jefferson Parish HOME Consortium, through the Department of Community Development, is currently accepting sub recipient applications from nonprofit organizations for the 2017-2018 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME), and Emergency Solution Grant (HESG) programs.

Based upon the previous year allocations, the following anticipated amounts for funding are:

Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG estimated $2.4 million) provides funds to support the development of viable urban communities through decent housing, expanding economic opportunities of persons of low and moderate income.

Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME estimated $1.5 million) provides funds to expand the supply of safe, decent, affordable housing for low-income Americans, such as First Time Homebuyer Assistance and Housing Rehab Programs.

Emergency Solutions Grant (HESG estimated $217,000) provides funds for emergency shelters for the homeless and other programs to prevent homelessness.

Completed applications for 2017-2018 CDBG, HOME, and HESG funding must be submitted via email to by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 31st, 2017 and the original must be mailed and postmarked no later than midnight March 31st to the following address:  Jefferson Parish, Department of Community Development Department, 1221 Elmwood Park Boulevard, Suite 605, Jefferson, Louisiana 70123.
