Fleurty Girl Old Gretna

During Gretna Fest weekend, New Orleans staple Fleurty Girl swung open its doors onto Huey P. Long Avenue for the first time. Fleurty Girl, located at 405 Huey P. Long Avenue in Old Gretna is the brain child of Lauren LeBlanc Haydel who started the company out of her home in 2009.

The single mother of three used $2,000 from her 2009 tax return and began printing t-shirts that represented New Orleans pride. Within six months, her business had moved offline and into the front room of her Oak Street home. Since then, Fleurty Girl has expanded into a full New Orleans-themed gift shop that not only sells the t-shirts that put the store on the map but home décor, collectibles, mugs, towels, jewelry and the list goes on. Lauren is also a supporter of other local businesses and boasts many locally made products in her shops. Aside from Gretna, Fleurty Girl has 5 other locations all over the New Orleans area including the French Quarter, Magazine Street, Metairie and Mandeville. Lauren was also recently presented with a Certificate of Recognition from the City of Gretna and Mayor Belinda Constant as a thank you for opening a store in Old Gretna.

When I stopped into the newest Fleurty Girl location in Old Gretna, I was greeted by the same charm that I have come to expect and love from these shops. I have been a “Fleurty Fan” for a long time and I just love that these stores offer New Orleans gifts and goodies at a reasonable price and I like that when I shop here I’m supporting other local businesses as well. This store packs a lot into its small space and I saw a lot of items that any New Orleanian would love to add to their Christmas list such as Fleur de Lis earrings, snow ball jewelry, New Orleans themed kitchen and home décor and much more.

We are excited to welcome Fleurty Girl to the Westbank and Old Gretna, and wish her much success with the new store. Fleurty Girl is open daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Gretna store can be reached at 218-7476 and found online at www.fleurtygirl.net.
