Amanda Shaw’s Cajun Christmas Special shines the light on Louisiana’s cultural and Christmas traditions with a supporting cast of local personalities and talented musicians who bring theatrical performances and lighthearted skits to life on primetime television. The holiday special features familiar faces in homegrown entertainment including Zydeco sensation Rockin’ Dopsie, Cowboy Month’s lead singer Fred LeBlanc, the wildly entertaining 610 Stompers and others.
“The holiday traditions we celebrate in Louisiana are so incredibly rich,” said Amanda Shaw. “For many years, I have dreamed of creating a variety show that shares stories of our holiday culture and heritage using a platform that brings together talented artists and performers from across the state. To see this holiday special come to life is priceless, and I am really proud of the final product.”
Amanda Shaw’s Cajun Christmas Special is only one of the projects the local musician is working on this holiday season. Immediately following the first airing of the holiday special, Shaw will release her second single of 2017, festively titled, “Holiday.” The song, which makes its world premiere during the special, is sure to fill the hearts of fans with joy this holiday season.
Fans can also see Shaw in upcoming appearances throughout the region, starting with two performances on December 9th – one in Olde Mandeville for the Christmas Past Festival, and the other in Lutcher for the Bonfires Festival. Later this month, Shaw will return to New Orleans to perform the National Anthem for the Saints vs. Jets football game at the Dome on December 17th. Following the game, Shaw will team up with WGNO for the annual Coats for Kids Program.
“This is an exciting time for me,” exclaims Shaw. “Not only is my holiday special debuting, but I am also entering an amazing chapter of my career. I have been working so hard to give my fans a more mature sound and the response has been unbelievable. As an artist, it is so fulfilling to have your endeavors acknowledged with such overwhelming reception. I am so eager to continue giving fans a glimpse of my vision with projects like the holiday special. There is even more to come in 2018!”
Shaw has enjoyed a robust music career, performing regionally, nationally and internationally for nearly two decades. The local favorite, who gains inspiration from artists including Dolly Parton and Bonnie Raitt, has been a regular on the festival scene since she was a young musician.
