Tiffany Kuhn qualifies to run for full term on the Jefferson Parish School Board

School board elections in Jefferson Parish are this fall and candidates recently qualified to seek office representing their respective districts. Tiffany Kuhn served as the interim member and was elected to the School Board in March 2018 to finish the unexpired term of the late Ray St. Pierre. Since Mr. St. Pierre’s untimely death, Board Member Kuhn has made it a priority to get engaged within the district schools she represents and to ensure she is informed of the needs and objectives. Mrs. Kuhn recently qualified as a candidate for re-election in July for the fall elections.

Tiffany Kuhn has strong ties to the Jefferson Parish Public School System and the West Bank. Her community work can be attributed to her desire to help students and teachers reach their goals. A graduate of Fisher Middle-High, Kuhn returned to her alma mater as a parent to help establish a parent organization. She was influential in acquiring for the school a digital marquee that helps communicate information to parents.

She was named Leo Kerner Jr. Elementary 2011 Volunteer of the Year, and has served as president of the school’s parent organization since 2012. Kuhn helped Kerner Elementary get two age-specific playgrounds. She also serves on the JPPSS Parent Advisory Council.

Kuhn graduated from the University of New Orleans with a major in Hospitality Management. She worked her way up through the hospitality industry to become a general manager. She currently oversees the sales and promotional operations of her family business, Higgins Seafood.

Stefan Suazo of Gretna and Mark Terrebonne of Marrero have also qualified to seek this seat.
