Combel’s Custom Cruisers will hold benefit car show for No One Fights Alone

Combel’s Custom Cruisers will be holding their second-annual car show on September 15th at Schnell’s Restaurant and Bar located at 5501 4th St. in Marrero

The event will benefit No One Fights Alone. No One Fights Alone is an organization that understands the expenses that come with a cancer diagnosis. They organize fundraising efforts to support selected individuals and their families, so they can focus on the battle against cancer instead of the bills.

Founded by John Combel Sr, Rhonda Combel, Michael Boudreaux and Beth Boudreaux on January 4th, 2017, Combel’s Customs Cruisers is a charitable organization made up of individuals who are dedicated to having fun while helping and supporting others in need. Their inaugural event was held on September 16th, 2017 and benefitted No One Fights Alone, who were presented with a check for $41,212.72. With the help and donation of food from Schnell’s Restaurant, Combel’s Custom Cruisers members also worked the West Jefferson Family Festival, and sold roast beef po boys and onion rings and were able to donate another check of $1004.00 to No One Fights Alone.

Combel’s Custom Cruisers has been involved in many other charitable works. On May 4, 2018, as an organization, they drove to Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport, carrying a check for $5,000.00. Members took a tour of the hospital and donated towards the nurse / patient call systems and they donated Mardi Gras rides to help children walk. Other acts of charity include $200 raised for Rickey L. Gongre, a PPSO deputy whose home was destroyed by a fire in January, $200 for Leroy Savoie, who lost his young son to cancer, and $200 raised for Christmas baskets for those in need.

The second-annual car show benefit will be held at Schnell’s Restaurant in Marrero, where the entire block will be closed off with permission from Jefferson Parish. There will be lots of great food, live entertainment, a parade of prizes, which include many items from many local restaurants and businesses. There will also be a live auction of items such as autographed footballs, an entertainment center, a fishing charter, Saints tickets and more, as well as a 50/50 drawing. The event will also include beautiful show cars, bikes, trucks and jeeps. Come out and enjoy the fun and fellowship that’s planned all while supporting an awesome cause! All monetary donations will be recognized on sponsor boards at the car show and may be tax deductible. Combel’s Custom Cruisers ID# is 82-1715958 and checks should be made payable to Combel’s Customs Cruisers and mailed to 2512 Cypress Lawn Dr. Marrero, LA 70072.
