Arden Cahill Academy High School

Arden Cahill Academy is pleased to announce that after providing an exceptional education for thousands of students over the course of fifty years in the Metro New Orleans area, we will be continuing our educational opportunities by establishing a high school for the 2019-2020 school year.

This initial expansion will begin with the addition of freshman and perhaps sophomore classes, with the remaining grade levels being added successively by year. Joining our administrative team to help create this exciting new venture will be Ms. Laura Bloom Martin. Ms. Martin comes to us from one of the top three school districts in the state of Louisiana, with over 15 years of secondary education and administrative experience. She has excelled in a multitude of capacities including teacher, curriculum and instructional specialist, assistant principal, and most recently as district level supervisor over Career and Technical Education, as well as the Safe Schools program. She has worked extensively with STEM programs, including co-writing a kindergarten through college level STEM pathway on Coastal Restoration for the Louisiana Department of Education. Among Ms. Martin’s proudest accomplishments is her work in curriculum and instruction, which allowed for the ascension of multiple schools from C to A ratings under her administrative oversight.

When asked about her transition to Arden Cahill Academy, Ms. Martin stated, “I am most excited to work with the Cahill family in building a high school program from the ground up, while holding true to the original mission Mrs. Arden Cahill established over 50 years ago. Our vision is to establish a high school that excels in both academics and the liberal arts, while providing a truly diverse co-ed population on a beautiful campus. We want to be able to extend our unique Cahill culture into the high school to foster academic and emotional growth for all students. I am truly grateful for this opportunity, and I cannot wait to see what our future holds.” Ms. Martin will be joining our administrative team at the end of May to begin working with our teachers on curriculum and instruction in order to make preparations for our high school.

As our 50th year in academic achievement comes to an end, we look forward to the beginning of a new chapter in the educational opportunities offered at Arden Cahill Academy.
