New School Board Member UNO Alum Tiffany Kuhn

University of New Orleans alum Tiffany Kuhn was named interim board member of District III by the Jefferson Parish School Board on August 16th.

District III includes Allen Ellender School, C.T. Janet Elementary, Estelle School, Fisher Middle-High School, Grand Isle School, John Ehret High School, Kerner Elementary, Marrero Academy, Miller Wall Elementary, and West Bank Community School.

Ms. Kuhn is a graduate of Fisher-Middle High School in Lafitte, she was named Leo Kerner Jr. Elementary School 2011 Volunteer of the Year and has served as president of the school’s parent organization since 2012. Through a parent organization she helped establish, she was able to help Fisher-Middle High School acquire a digital marquee that relays school news to students and parents. While serving on the school system’s advisory council, she helped Kerner Elementary procure two age-specific playgrounds. She fills the vacancy left after the death of Jefferson Parish school leader Ray St. Pierre. Ms. Kuhn will serve in the interim role until a permanent replacement is made next year. Ms. Kuhn plans to run to serve the remainder of the term.
